The small town of Floda in Sweden hosted a youth exchange "Resilient and Green Communities" from 17 to 26 May 2022. The event brought together 60 young people from six countries - Sweden, North Macedonia, Italy, Serbia, Greece, and Turkey. We took part in non-formal educational activities aimed at promoting resilience and sustainability in communities, which means that participants learned through activities, games, and workshops rather than traditional classroom lectures
The exchange was organised by a partnership of youth organisations from the six countries, with the support of the Erasmus + program of the European Union. The goal of the exchange was to bring together young people from different countries and backgrounds to exchange ideas, experiences, and best practices on building resilient and green communities.
Throughout the exchange, the participants had the opportunity to learn about different approaches to building resilience and sustainability in communities. They also had the chance to learn about the local culture and environment in Sweden. The exchange included discussion to local people, workshops on sustainable practices, and debates on the challenges and opportunities the communities are facing.
We also had the chance to connect with each other and build friendships that transcended national borders. The exchange was a platform for intercultural dialogue, and we learned about the different customs, traditions, and values of their peers from other countries.
Overall, the youth exchange on "Resilient and Green Communities" in Floda, Sweden was a successful event that brought together young people from different countries to learn, share, and grow together. The non-formal educational methods used during the exchange allowed the participants to learn in a fun and engaging way, and the exchange was a valuable platform for intercultural dialogue and friendship building. The exchange served as a reminder that young people can play a crucial role in building a more sustainable and resilient future for all.
